Cathay Pacific looks to expand its fleet

Sept. 15, 2011, Hong Kong, China - Cathay Pacific has unveiled a plan to invest U.S. $25.7 billion to expand its fleet by adding 95 fuel-efficient aircraft.

The new aircraft will be added to the airline's fleet before the end of the decade.

In addition to the fleet upgrade, the new development plan includes new cabin products and way points, as well as services to new destinations.

The company is also planning to invest U.S. $705 million to build a cargo centre which is expected to be operational in 2013, with annual cargo handling capacity of 2.6 million tons.
