Government awards $200,000 to DAC Aviation International Ltd.

Feb. 17, 2009, Montreal - The Honourable Denis Lebel today announced that DAC Aviation International Ltd. will receive $200,000 in repayable funding to upgrade its aircraft maintenance facility.

Feb. 17, 2009, Montreal – The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, today announced that DAC Aviation International Ltd. will receive $200,000 in repayable funding to upgrade its aircraft maintenance facility. This project will result in the creation of 14 high-end aeronautics positions, bringing the company's staff to a total of 36 people.
       
DAC Aviation International Ltd. offers aircraft engine and accessory refurbishment services as well as flight operations in countries receiving humanitarian aid from such organizations as the UN World Food Programme.
      
 "The aerospace industry is a key sector in which Canada Economic Development engages in the Greater Montréal area. DAC Aviation International's project is entirely in line with the government's commitment to encouraging this industry. Thanks to DAC Aviation's initiative, we are supporting the creation of high-quality jobs and strengthening recognition of Canadian niches of excellence in the international marketplace," said the Minister of State.
       
This funding is provided through the Productivity Support component of the Business and Regional Growth program. This component supports enterprises which, like DAC Aviation International Ltd., are actively working to improve productivity. Through its programs and consulting services, Canada Economic Development stimulates the growth of entrepreneurship and promotes the sustainable development of the regions.
